Our History

Established in 1971, Taylor Rental Concord has been a family-owned and operated business for over 50 years! Doug and Louise Dartnell saw a need for a full-service rental equipment company in the area and opened Concord’s very own Taylor Rental. Initially located on the south end of Concord, we were known for our bright yellow building next to Sanel’s which is now home to a restaurant and brewery.

After almost a quarter century of ownership, Doug and Louise entrusted the business to the next generation, son, Mark Dartnell, and his wife, Cate. The couple ran Taylor Rental Concord from 1995 until 2023, including both of their children as staff along the way. The Dartnells initiated a change in scenery for the business in 2019 when they moved to a large warehouse building on the opposite end of town, formerly home to Evan’s Printing. We are now located at 276 North State Street, right across from the State Prison and downstairs from Capital Sporting Goods.

On January 27, 2023, the business faced another major change when Jason Weir and Allison Phelps McIntosh took the reins and purchased the business from the Dartnell family. Allison joined the team in 2019 as a Customer Service Rep and quickly moved up the ranks to Operations Manager. Her first move was bringing on Jason to take control of a shop in disarray. Jason and Allison changed the culture of Taylor Rental Concord and established a rapport with the customers. Often teased as “The Jason and Allison Show”, the two share neighboring desks in the office where they showcase their banter to customers entering the building. Jason and Allison have three children, Mason, Elizabeth, and Grantham, who can often be seen onsite testing out bounce houses or assembling mowers.

After celebrating one year of ownership, we dove headfirst into our next big adventure by bringing on the Cub Cadet brand. We’ve traded in our old yellow building for a wave of yellow lawn tractors that can be seen from the road or in our showroom. As Concord’s only Full Line Local Dealer, we now offer sales, service, and warranty work on all Cub Cadet equipment! With our huge inventory ranging from mowers and sanders to tables, chairs, and dishware, our professional staff is ready to meet all your rental needs. Our mission is to provide reliable equipment and knowledgeable employees to help you get your project done expertly and on time.

We provide rental equipment to help clients with a temporary need for a project or event. We have a state-of-the-art computer system to track inventory and maintenance to keep our equipment in top working condition. We also offer delivery and pick-up of equipment, as well as maintenance on-site if necessary.

From wedding accessories, dishware and serving ware to metal detectors and propane, home improvement, inflatables, lawn & garden equipment, hand & power tools, construction.
